Remember when...

I really think that high school was the busiest time of my life. Most days, it started at 4:30am and ended after midnight.

BUT... things were nice back then.

Basically, I could spend my money any way I wanted, and my parents took great care of me. I'd come home late at night from a long day of seminary, swimming, school, work, and homework and have a plate of dinner waiting up for me.

Things I looked forward to were letters from Jed, Friday night girls nights, family nights where we watched the office together, and finishing tests/papers for schools. I loved going to church and seeing all of my beloved ward family members too.

I definitely love life now even more, but I really cannot believe that my worry-free days are over. Do you remember when worries seemed plentiful, but in the grand scheme of things, you had none?

My kids are going to hate me for reminding them of this every single day of their lives.

What were your worry-free days like? Do you prefer life now to life in high school?

I was just thinking about this the other day! I definitely love my life now, but high school was so fun! Never stressed about school (until I got to college), went to the movies and hung out with friends a lot, loved seminary, participated in dance shows and plays, went on vacation in the summers- parents paid of course, spent money on clothes and random things because I didn't have bills or rent to pay. You definitely see life differently when you look back. ah.. the life of a teenager :)

I feel the same way Adrianne. High school was magnificent in so many ways. And the #1 reason was because of how carefree and laid back it was. I am a totally different person now than I used to be. I wish I didn't have to be a high maintenance, responsible grownup. bleh.

I look at our monthly bills just the two of us and one kid and think "How did my parents do this with 6 kids??"

LOVE live sooo much more now.
Highschool had its ups and downs. I enjoyed hanging out with you and some of my other friends. Senior year could be deleted ALMOST completely...but I'm definitely grateful for the lessons I learned.
Although I don't know if I would say our worry-free days are completely over...I'm looking forward to worry-free days when I get older...thats for sure.

I have such a different view of "back then" than you. No one could pay me enough to go back to high school days haha. I think I had WAY more worries in high school than I do now. I was so concerned about social problems and fitting in. I was just as highstrung about homework then as I am now. I think maybe when I'm out of school completely and working I will look back on college as my worry-free days but never high school.
