Can I just vent for a second?

Ok.. thanks.

As many of you know, I have had the same job for the last 3 years.. almost. For a campus job that pays pretty much nothing, that is quite an accomplishment. I know... pretty much everything there is to know about my little area of the building. A job for two people has been turned into a job for one--Me-- because I have become so efficient doing what I do (pardon me for sounding cocky here), however...

every single full-time employee I deal with thinks I am stupid. I don't know what it is about BYU faculty, but most of the people I come in contact with (besides Kurt and student faculty)are rude and looooove talking down to student employees. To make matters worse, my boss gladly sides with any disgruntled customer.... something to do with the customer always being right. When one complaint comes in, he posts signs everywhere trying to fix he the problem. He uses BOLD words and underlines words he hopes will make us do better. I just take them down because he never takes the time to learn the real story or to explain things in a kindly manner. Never do I hear a "job well done!" or a "wow! you finished that fast!"... just "do this next time".. "this is wrong,"... "someone called me upset about this..." blah blah blah.
Aren't these people supposed to be our examples? All I'm learning is to throw my employees under the bus so I can look better, complain viciously with every inconvenience and talk down to anyone younger than me.
All I have to say is that campus jobs are nothing to get upset over. If a job is actually important, BYU will hire a full-time "grown-up" to do the job. It irritates me that everyone here thinks that a letter sent first class instead of presort or a piece of campus mail being sent to the wrong place is the end of the world. Am I the only one in reality? IT. DOES. NOT. MATTER.
Campus jobs are a joke, and I'm just trying to survive mine long enough to pay rent.

Hopefully I can find a job where I am valued and where my hard work is acknowledged by more than a package of stale cookies here and there.
