Laie Temple

On Sunday Jed and I drove to the North shore and spent some time walking around the temple, watching a film at the Visitors Center, and stopping by BYU-Hawaii.
This was the rainiest day of our entire trip, and it was even flooding on all the little road we were driving.
The temple was so beautiful, and I had no clue it was so old. It was built in 1918 (completed), and it was the first temple built outside of the USA (because at the time, Hawaii wasn't part of the US). I believe it was also the 5th temple built in the church. Amazing, isn't it!?
This was when I first discovered the beautiful Plumeria flower. Smells delicious, and is so perfectly adorable that it looks fake.
There is an undeniable spirit at all of the temples on the Earth, but I loved feeling the strength of the many islanders who built this temple with their faith. It is an amazing place.
